Alcohol Awareness Campaigns

I will be looking at Alcohol Awareness Campaigns and looking at how the campaigns raise the awareness of the dangers of Alcohol.

The first website I found is http://www.drinkaware.co.uk/campaigns

This website shows campaigns they hosted since 2008.

The main focus of their campaigns are to highlight the dangers of Alcohol misuse through campaigns. Drinkaware.co.uk uses imagery, videos and applications to raise the awareness of the campaign.

Drinkaware.co.uk hosts events to reduce alcohol related harm and to give people important facts about the misuse of Alcohol. The current campaign Drinkaware.co.uk are hosting is a ingenious idea which uses the idea of the 2012 Olympics is to host a 10k run in London. Everybody can take part in the organised event and is highly promoted to raise the support and awareness. The campaign shows a lot of facts and statistics on different matters of Alcohol. The website also promotes to fund your own campaign by applying.

I think it will be a very good idea if we address these same issues on our own project and maybe promote the current campaign hosted by Drinkaware.co.uk on our alcohol awareness news package as this will raise awareness in their campaign and also raise awareness in our project.

After researching more alcohol awareness campaigns, I found a really interesting campaign from alcoholconcern.org.uk, the campaign is an annual campaign and is hosted for a week each time. This is called the alcohol awareness week. Alcohol awareness week raises awareness by local and regional groups and organisations of the health  and social issues to the public. Alcoholconcern.org.uk also shows statistics and key facts of the dangers of alcohol misuse.

I think if we promoted the Alcohol awareness week in our news package, this would raise awareness in our project and I think if we add the key facts in our project this will highlight the issues.
