Here is the floor plan of the studio we will be filming at. The live show will take place on this set and on the same following show our VT will be presented on the show from the vision mixer in the gallery room. I created the floor plan myself using software called Celtx.

Content and Style
Content
and Style of my news package
As a group, our news package has focused on
the topic of Alcohol.
We have been research news packages by
watching a variety of news packages on the Internet, these news packages target
a wide audience, we have made comments on these news packages and developed
idea’s for our own news package.
The content we are using starts with a live
introduction to the package, which gives the headline of our news package and
then a short summary of what our news package aims to do, which is shows the
typical life of a student who drinks alcohol. During the short summary, general
views of alcohol will be shown in video and image form. The next stage of our
news package is to show a pre-recorded VT of interviews that was carried out asking
possible questions we mind-mapped. There will be an appearance of a presenter
on our news package as that is a common during news packages. The total running
time of our news package will be no longer than five minutes.
The style we are using sticks to one colour
scheme, the colour scheme being Red. The font needs to be reading and suitable
for everybody viewing the news package. The font we considered was a sans serif
as this type of font is easier to read rather than serif. The font we will use is
Ariel as it is a professional looking front. The colour font we decided to use
is White, as this will make the font easy to read using a Red colour scheme.
We will be using logos in our news package.
This logo is a production logo that has been created ourselves which means the
logo will be copyright free. The logo has been made to look professional and
suitable to be added to the news package.

| First Logo |

| Final Logo |
Another reason we had to change the group
production logo was for the reason that using the first logo had a white
background and white background couldn’t be used in the VT’s as would look very
un-professional so we decided the inverse the colours with the text and the
background.

Alcohol Awareness Campaigns
I will be looking at Alcohol Awareness Campaigns and looking at how the campaigns raise the awareness of the dangers of Alcohol.
The first website I found is http://www.drinkaware.co.uk/campaigns
This website shows campaigns they hosted since 2008.
The main focus of their campaigns are to highlight the dangers of Alcohol misuse through campaigns. Drinkaware.co.uk uses imagery, videos and applications to raise the awareness of the campaign.
Drinkaware.co.uk hosts events to reduce alcohol related harm and to give people important facts about the misuse of Alcohol. The current campaign Drinkaware.co.uk are hosting is a ingenious idea which uses the idea of the 2012 Olympics is to host a 10k run in London. Everybody can take part in the organised event and is highly promoted to raise the support and awareness. The campaign shows a lot of facts and statistics on different matters of Alcohol. The website also promotes to fund your own campaign by applying.
I think it will be a very good idea if we address these same issues on our own project and maybe promote the current campaign hosted by Drinkaware.co.uk on our alcohol awareness news package as this will raise awareness in their campaign and also raise awareness in our project.
After researching more alcohol awareness campaigns, I found a really interesting campaign from alcoholconcern.org.uk, the campaign is an annual campaign and is hosted for a week each time. This is called the alcohol awareness week. Alcohol awareness week raises awareness by local and regional groups and organisations of the health and social issues to the public. Alcoholconcern.org.uk also shows statistics and key facts of the dangers of alcohol misuse.

300 word essay
Pitch
[Luke, Kassem, Imogen and Mikael]
For our news package we brainstormed idea's for our project to be presented on a news show lasting one-minute. The idea had to relate to student life. We started developing idea's about student life, the idea's that we came up with was;
- Drugs
- Alcohol
- Smoking
- Music
- Finances
- Student Fees
We then decided to choose Alcohol as our main focus of the project. Our main aim with this idea is to try and warn students about the effects and dangers of alcohol. Some of the effects being financially and some of the dangers being the risk to your body.
Next, we gathered facts and statistics about Alcohol.
This is Secondary Research, we want to gather information ourselves which is Primary Research so we decided to interview students asking questions about Alcohol, to gain more facts and statistics."With cheap deals on alcohol in student unions and deals aimed at students in other bars, cost isn’t much of a barrier to drinking at university. And with those deals extending to weeknights, students can often go out anytime and drink cheaply. However, spending does add up - The National Union of Students estimates that the average student spends £675 a year on socialising." - 13/12/2011, http://www.drinkaware.co.uk/alcohol-and-you/work-and-study/students?gclid=CI3j4KyA_6wCFQUhtAodyhSNTg
All that was needed now was some General Views to use as cutaways during the package, these general views will be edited with the interviews into one sequence ready to be presented on the live broadcast.
Throughout our research and filming, we always took copyright into consideration.
